Commercial fishing boats tied up at Port Maitland at the mouth of the Grand River make an interesting and unusual subject for me.
For eight years I was honourary chairman of the Grand River Valley Foundation. In the course of my work to explore the length of the Grand River watershed, I had the joy of finding the commercial fishing fleet at the mouth of the river. For me this is an exciting and challenging subject so close to home. I have painted boats in my travels but not many here at home.
