Painting Description

The old style boats in this harbour at Zierikzee added a distinct flavour to a busy commercial site. The mill looming over the town said Dutch in Capital letters. The development of the windmill made much of Holland possible as it provided the pumping power to drain the soggy land. Now entire armies of wind fans do the pumping and the picturesque run only one day a week
