Wetlands II
Painting Description
This swampy roadside area in the Paradise Lake neighbourhood provides a dramatic play of light on only some parts of this scene.
In this piece I reversed the dark and light area from the way I saw the scene as shown in Wetlands I, PS264, a companion piece. This experiment was brought on by a book, Light on Landscape, written by a British artist, Norman Battershill. I am fortunate to have purchased one of his paintings in the early 1980s in London, England. As you may know, I am fascinated by light effects and this idea has become the major theme of my work.
