Tintagel

Painting Description

The first visit to Tintagel, the supposed seat of King Arthur, is such a romantic fairy tale experience. I hauled my painting gear part way down the cliff to set up closer to the waves that pounded into the cove. The remains of buildings clung to the precipitously steep hills around the inlet. With only a little help, I was able to believe the legends of that area, fully supported by the National Trust and the local Chamber of Commerce in all their propaganda presented at the site.
