Stony Patterns
Painting Description
The patterns of the stony bottom of a creek near Elmira drew my attention. Patterns of shadow and sunlight intersect this small brook.
I suppose you could almost view this bit of scenery as just abstract shapes. After all this is the way I start a painting using shapes of colour that progress into identifiable objects.
