Spring blossoms provide a lovely spice into the almost totally green landscape of early spring.
This little bit of spring landscape on the west side of Linwood offers many opportunities for a painter but presents many challenges. Other than the spring blossoms, there is little relief from the greens that could overwhelm this painting. For sure there is a huge variety of greens but that in itself demands a tight control so none of the greens becomes too dominant. If I have pulled this piece together the way that I hope, the viewers will be unaware of the technical issues but rather just enjoy the softness of spring.
