Roadside Trees

Painting Description

One of the characteristics that distinguishes an artist from the rest of the population is the ability to see. Seeing is quite different from looking. To see, it is necessary to take time with ordinary pieces of daily life, those small or large pieces of our environment that go unnoticed, unappreciated and unconsidered. Observation of this sort is taught or was taught in art college in my student days. Once a subject has been identified as attractive, it is necessary to do something about it. This ordinary group of roadside trees shows my attempt with the mundane.
