Rail Fence (A)

Painting Description

This is a watercolour rendition of rail fences on George Martin’s farm, just off Benjamin Road in Waterloo. George’s father, Ammon, was very kind to me in my early years by allowing me free access to this farm, both to paint and photograph. In those years of the 1960’s, it was most unusual for an Old Order Mennonite to be so receptive to my efforts. For another view of this farm, see: Image #2424 Suppertime and Image #1723 Looking to the Past.
