Suppertime
Painting Description
When we used to ride, we used the expression “to the barn” as a way of describing the direction in which we rode. The horses were always much more willing when they were headed in that direction and hence the reward of food. In this painting, the eagerness is obvious as these horses, just released from their hitch, head for the stable.
