Museum Train

Painting Description

This historic steam engine stands at the Waterloo Region Museum in Kitchener. I created a story line with the mother and kids to take away from just a stark rendering of a train. This painting is part of a group of paintings created for the television series, My View, which was developed by Rogers Cable 20 in Kitchener.

I was able to stand inside the museum to paint this view of the steam engine through an enormous glass wall. Obviously the woman and kids were added from my files to give the story line to this piece. As part of the show, I had an audience watching the first 2 hours of the painting’s creation.
