Hilltop View
Painting Description
This sugarbush scene near Crosshill is really just an excuse for me to develop a colour piece. By choosing a vantage point on a hill opposite, I was able to construct a pattern of soft shades both in warms and cools. In my early years I would have seen this situation only as a sugaring scene. I now see this as a patterning of colour and light. I am making a picture.
