Haddon Hall Flowers
Painting Description
Haddon Hall, in Derbyshire, is my wifes favourite house in England. That is saying quite a lot as we have visited England over 30 times. By castle standards this fortified home is small. Although it goes back to the 12th century, it was only in 1567 that it came into the hands of the Manner family where it still is today. The gardens surrounding this pretty crenellated building draw me to paint them. If you are familiar with the murals that I painted for Janet Lynn’s Bistro in Waterloo, Ontario, you may see that in Inspired by Haddon Hall, Image #1294. I have used a much larger view of one of this castle’s fine gardens in a romantic setting.
