Painting Description

The old bridge at Blair, Ontario, makes a fine subject. This study is a preparation for a much larger version that must include a cardinal and a heron.

This is the start of a commission for a friend who just recently lost her husband. It is one of two, see Oak Creek Study, that I painted to give her some idea of what I was thinking about for a space in a new addition to her home.
