Arrangement of Purple

Painting Description

I clearly remember painting this still life in the gallery that Homer Watson had added to his Victorian home in Doon, Ontario. There was a small crowd of thirty people who had turned out for this advertised event. I was asked to produce a still life from the flowers available in the garden behind this historic house. Many people who attend demonstrations of this type are sure they will discover some special technique or colour that will be the magic ingredient they can use in their own painting. I”m sorry to say that there is no magic potion. I think discipline is the only thread that I see in all good painting.
