Turned-up Collar

Painting Description

This young fellow that I spotted at a farm auction exhibits a curious characteristic common amongst Mennonite men. Even in the coldest weather, no scarf or ear muffs cover the ears of these hearty souls, while the Mennonite women are wrapped up except for their eyes with great black scarves that encompass even parts of their bonnets.
