Young Cattle by the Creek

Painting Description

The flatlands near rivers or creeks often flood and so are best suited as grazing areas rather than crop lands. I enjoy walking along the banks of creeks such as this. How often I find beautiful serene areas totally screened from the passing traffic. I”ve had absolutely no problems obtaining permission from Mennonite farmers. Many times, I think, these plain-living men actually are flattered that I find their farms attractive. The young Holstein cattle shown here are not fancy pedigreed animals but rather garden variety (Heinz 57 varieties) cattle.
