Painting Description

Straight from the pages of James Herriot’s All Creatures Great and Small, this Yorkshire, England, farmer followed by his dog heads to the house. Although the differences are many, the similarity to the quiet life of traditional Mennonite farmers is striking. I was amused by the bright blue trim on the buildings that adds a patch of colour on a group of very gray buildings.
