Wells, British Columbia

Painting Description

Once a busy mining town, this settlement has fallen on hard times. No industry propels this hippie haven. Fortunately the road to the restored pioneer town of Barkerville passes right through Wells delivering a small offering of tourists. Although some of the homes have not changed much since the 1890’s, here and there a skylight or a solar panel suggests at least a desire to wrench itself from its former life.
