A team that can move at the right pace as the farmer works his way through the bush is a huge asset. Not unlike the milkman’s horse which moves along a street waiting for the command to stop or come along, these animals reduce the already heavy workload of the gatherer. It is often the pairing of a young inexperienced horse with a veteran steed that teaches the new member of the team just how the game is played.
