Painting Description

Welford is one of the black-and-white villages near Stratford-upon-Avon. These villages are so called because of the large number of black timbered dwellings in these spots. The original painting was purchased from our English dealer in Broadway by a racing fan over to England from Ireland for the Cheltenham Gold Cup. It seems that he had a bit of good luck at the ponies and purchased three of my paintings with his winnings.
