Painting Description

As I painted this piece, I could envision a bridal couple descending this staircase. Interestingly very few British weddings take place in the garden. Perhaps the dodgy weather of a Maritime climate is the reason, or perhaps the appeal of the picturesque village churches is too strong. On Saturdays in England we are always alert for wedding parties near those small pretty village churches. The Brits certainly dress for weddings and celebrate in high style.
