Painting Description

Surrounded by German tourists from a riverboat, I stood in a very brisk wind to develop this painting. I was reminded by this view of our journey to the south of France twenty-five years before. The plane trees in this square by the river provided a romantic, shaded area for family outings. Unfortunately, I did not see any boules players here, which is a staple of a French square.
