Painting Description

Each time I visit Purcell’s Cove I am struck by what a perfect movie set it would make. This long thin body of water with a creek at one end and the ocean at the other is just exactly the way central casting would like it. It is easy to get a very good view of the ancient buildings, the boats and all the gear as the road runs right along this narrow opening to the sea. I think it quite possible that I have included this old veteran in an earlier painting. I did quite a number of paintings along the Nova Scotia shore in the late 1980’s.
