Painting Description

This is an acrylic painting handled in a watercolour kind of way. I’ve taken some liberties, as I almost always do with this small farmstead several miles northeast of Millbank, home of Anna Mae’s restaurant. I wanted to add some animation to this quiet group of farm buildings, so I placed a neighbour in an adjacent field. The man (Chris) who is driving the riding plow is preparing the garden plot. It is interesting to see that the house behind him is home to a family of 10 people. This is a fine example of an Amish homestead on the western edge of the Region of Waterloo.
