Ullswater, England

Painting Description

The mountainous region of the Lake District in Cumbria, England with its old stone buildings and dry walls to separate fields provide unlimited scope for paintings. See also Ullswater (Sketch), Image # P0563 and Troutbeck, Lake District, Image # P0008.

We stayed at the Miller Howe Hotel at Lake Windermere, a lovely gentile country hotel, and enjoyed the many hill walks in the area. We were fortunate enough to be there for the Queen’s Silver Jubilee and were served the same menu as our monarch’s Coronation dinner.
