These days (2006) it is most unusual to spot a Mennonite farmer hauling logs along a country road. Perhaps it is sophistication or maybe just increased traffic, but now trucks carry logs to the mill or from the bush. The changes to lifestyle in Mennonite country have been profound in the forty years that I have been privileged to observe and record.
