Tourist Carriage, New Orleans
Painting Description
I’ve visited New Orleans only once on a return journey from Key West. Because we are cowards and weather wimps, we often take great side trips as we head back home from the warmth of the Conch Republic, delaying as long as possible the need to don boots and heavy coats. At any rate when we visited New Orleans, we stayed in the Old French Quarter which is romantic and musical as well as the home of some great cooking which we love. We stood in an alley in a large line-up waiting to enjoy the food of Paul Prudhomme. The wait was long and for me the food did not live up to the hype. It was interesting to experience this restaurant as well as Brennan’s for breakfast. I”m afraid many places are anchored in my mind through their restaurants, hotels and bars. Is that a character flaw?
