Swing Bridge
Painting Description
A Mennonite-built swing bridge spans the Conestogo River.
When the Three Bridges School was closed creating an even longer walk for the Mennonite kids that attended there, a plan was conceived by the Mennonites to build a bridge across the river that would allow the kids to cross the river after their walk through the fields to get to a parochial school just a mile down the road.
