Painting Description
This painting is a view of an historic building that once stood in Waterloo’s north end. This log house, later covered with siding, was built by my many times great grandfather around 1830. This house was the home, in its last years, to my wife’s’ grandmother. Commonly referred to as the Gingrich-Snyder house, this Mennonite home had a spring house that I particularly like. I want this painting to convey several things. I want the story of this dwelling to shine through not only in the common everyday things but also in the fun bits which these children represent.
