Painting Description

This small piece served as a preliminary to a larger painting, Water Course at the Renfrew Mill, Image # 2370. I use a sketch or study like this to decide whether or not a particular idea might carry a more extended concept. After these pieces were completed, I received a message from SPOOM, The Society for the Preservation of Old Mills, telling me about what a wonderful site this mill is. For once I was slightly ahead of the curve. It does not happen often.
