Painting Description

This is a nature design pattern that features the many colours of autumn and highlights a fallen tree trunk that runs across the strands of sunlight.

I was taken by the shades of mauve in the distance as they played off against the very warm hues in the foreground. The log was just a happy accident that I could use as a device to cut through the field of the painting. I am not sure that I would have used such a device if that old decaying log had not been there. I found it challenging to keep control of this restrained colour piece.
