Painting Description

A fallen log in the woods, a piece of snow covered sculpture near Erbsville.

I have recently decided to pursue a painting idea that is practiced by Richard Schmid, a well-known Chicago painter. He paints the focal point of the work in great detail and handles the rest of the painting in an out-of-focus way. I thought this bit of woodland from a 1991 photo was a good candidate for this sort of treatment.
