Small Bridge at West Burton
Painting Description
This morning painting was inspired by photos that I took in 1990 while on holiday at the edge of West Burton, Sussex. A small bridge spans a drainage canal. Beside the canal a path provides a dog walking opportunity that is most popular.
I find that following the dog walkers when we are on vacation takes me to places that a tourist could not have found. This spring view was so softly coloured and gentle in its atmosphere. Perhaps I should have included some of the dogs that I met along the way but I wanted this to be about the setting.
I am so fortunate that I have gathered a large well ordered collection of photos that I took over the years. Because the photos have been filed by place and time, I can easily take myself back to these wonderful locations.
