Shilton Street

Painting Description

A girl on a bike speeds by an ivy-clad stone house in the village of Shilton, Oxfordshire.

Although I am certainly not looking to illustrate kids’ books, this experiment using line to define and emphasize does remind me a tad of that genre. This approach also uses the rough ground to achieve a hit and miss characteristic that appeals to me. I would like to continue this approach in the future as the mood strikes.
