Painting Description

In this woodland scene the colour change in season from summer to autumn is just starting to show. Bursts of sunlight illuminate this scene in a theatrical way.

I have not painted very often that subtle time of year when the leaves start to move from deep green to olive and some already are moving to rust. The sun shooting through the canopy illuminates only parts of the view to make some trees very light in colour. There is a spectacular range of colour that I have not appreciated as I should have done.
