Painting Description

These picturesque ruins are overlooked from the hill beyond by a new Victorian era mansion. As is often the case when the original castle here was abandoned and the new house built, some deliberate destruction was done to the old walls to add to their romantic appeal. This is a rather reverse way of making a folly, I suppose.
