Painting Description

All my life I have been intrigued by the cloistered life of the conservative Mennonites. I was magnetized to their lifestyle. The more I observed and got to know people from these groups, the greater my interest became. Although I had produced some Mennonite work in my teenage years, I did not set out to become so closely attached to these direct, honest and peasant-like people. It seems to me now that I didn’t choose this topic, it possessed me.
