Painting Description
As a child I was under the impression that the school inspector was visiting the school to assess we students. It never occurred to me that the teacher was being graded not the kids. This painting starts with Bearinger’s School, which is now surrounded by Lake Shore Village in Waterloo. In those early years there was a generous front yard but the expansion of Bearinger Road now leaves a marginal strip between the road and the school.
