Sawmill Logs

Painting Description

In this painting the counterpoint of the modern cars in the background tends to add impact to the cold job of hauling logs.

Logs not sufficiently straight for milling into finished lumber are rejected by the sawmill. The Mennonites buy these logs for heating, at the right price. Waste not, want not. This scene is just south-west of Hawkesville.
