Painting Description

With the kids free from school, Saturday is extra busy on a Mennonite farm. This piece just north-west of St. Jacobs was set in what was then the heart of Mennonite country. With urban expansion, many Mennonites have sold their farms and moved to a more rural area. For a summer view of this place, see St. Jacobs Garden, Image #2847. As is typical of the way that I work, I have traded a brick house for a stone house, and the picture became the cover of my book, “A New Harvest”.
