One of the aspects of traditional Mennonite life that appeals to some while repelling others, is the utter predictability of life. Every Saturday afternoon on farms all over Mennonite Country buggies, or carriages, as many Mennonites call them, are washed in preparation for church on the following morning. Anyone who has lived on an unpaved road will know why this ritual is necessary.
