Painting Description

These two young women are pressed into service in the bush only because there is a shortage of men to do this strenuous work. I found these women as excellent subjects with their coloured dresses and aprons. I am always alert to the combination of colours that present themselves in a totally accidental way. If the colours present in the scene are not striking, I make a real attempt to introduce the hues that I would like to be there.
