Painting Description

Sometimes I find paintings grow out of unusual starts. In this case, my former secretary, Joan, spent some time with an old couple who live in Wellesley. She spent several hours, as she often does, looking at old photos of their past. Among various family pictures, she discovered some wonderful old shots of Wellesley as it was in the 1930’s and 40’s. Starting from that base, I built this painting, adding various features that I remember from my childhood.
