Roses around the Tree
Painting Description
In 1979 following a show that I presented at Ontario House in London England, we rented an ancient house, “Oak Corner” in the walled town of Rye. Three miles from Rye is Winchelsea another walled hill town. These tile-hung houses from that small town are typical of a building style in Kent. The range and number of blooms support the motto for Kent, which is “the garden of England”.
