Painting Description

Autumn colours surround this fictional church in the woods. A simple road leads to this focal point of interest.

Every once in a while I break from my normal painting approach or style for a fun excursion into something different. This painting owes much to the style of Richard Schmid, a painter from Chicago. As you can see, I have focused on the church and softened the foreground to pull the viewer to the church. I used an old country church from the Shakespeare area as my model church but placed it in a make-believe setting.
