River Flats Near Conestogo

Painting Description

A view of this pastoral scene was my reward for a tramp across a rough roadside field. Small channels form beside the main trunk of the Conestogo River as it corkscrews its way to a meeting with the Grand River just one mile from this bovine dining spot. Through my association with the Grand Valley Foundation, I have become most aware and appreciative of the flat lands in the river valley. Some of the prettiest land is encompassed by that horrid sounding name, the flood plain. See also #1874B Start of Spring, Conestogo and #2034 Conestogo Flats.
