Painting Description

This small painting showcases a complicated subject. The horse and buggy in the foreground present a foil to this traditional farmstead.

I was attracted to this subject by the slender ribbon of snow beside the road. That light-coloured string provides an accurate guide to the contour of the road and also serves to alleviate a rather colourless time in the year.
