Painting Description

Much of Britain’s appeal for us is the frequency of stumbling across romantic scenes that seem too good to be true. Truth to tell, the locals probably don”t even think that much that we crave is even very attractive. I despair when I talk to patrons at a charming country pub and they enthuse about houses that they have seen on the tellie from Dallas or Dynasty. I realize that living in a thatched house with less than wonderful central heating would perhaps seriously mar my romantic image of that aged abode, but I cling firmly to those images that seem to come from my childhood storybooks.
