Rainforest Walk
Painting Description
Following a healthy lunch with friends at the Gumboot Cafe in Roberts Creek we were lead, by a woman from Sechelt, on an hour long walk through a piece of rainforest just down the road. This area of B.C.’s Sunshine Coast, just north of Vancouver, is still home to many counter-culture hippie types that seem to be stuck in the 1960s.
I had been in the rainforest many years ago in Washington State but this patch of country was new to me. I find it amusing that the Sunshine Coast has so much rain. Perhaps this is a bit of PR spin. Reminds me of the amusing way in which Iceland is green while Greenland is icy.
