Prepared
Painting Description
This woodpile standing in the spring bush, near Paradise Lake, represents a great deal of winter work. This wood has already been cut into stove lengths.
Preparing to heat the house for next winter begins this winter as trees are cut first into 4 foot sections called bush lengths and then into smaller 2 foot pieces called stove lengths. The wood is stacked to dry and will be loaded onto a wagon whenever there is a pause in the field work in the summer or fall.
